Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says the focus is on Champions League opponents Manchester City.

Real go to City for the second-leg of their round of 16 tie trailing 2-1 on aggregate.

"The team is doing well," Benzema said.

"Now we have time to work.

"We want to continue our form from the league and beating City is very important."

Benzema has received Mahou's Jugador Cinco Estrellas award for Real Madrid's player of the season in LaLiga Santander.

"I'm proud to have won this trophy because it comes from the fans and that's very important," Benzema added.

"I'm very happy and this gives me more hunger to do things on the pitch.

"[Winning the league title] was special and difficult too, but we did a great job."
