Real Madrid striker Joselu was delighted scoring in victory at Girona.

Real ranout 3-0 winners on Saturday to end Girona's spell at the top of the table.

Joselu said: "We were convinced that Girona were a tough opponent. We came here with the mentality to get the win and put ourselves at the top of the table. The team didn't start well but that's normal, you're away from home and the opposition always push you. We had the right idea and we managed to score three goals away from home. The important thing is the sacrifice and the team spirit in the dressing room to face games as difficult as today's.

"Any game in Primera is difficult. The opponents get stronger and against us the intensity is always greater because of the desire to beat the best team in the league. On we go, we did a good job. We made the most of our chances, we put them away and we're happy to get three very important points away from home.

"I'm very confident. I'm making the most of the minutes the coach gives me, I'm here to help because that's what I came here for. The day-to-day is incredible, the teammates and everyone has welcomed me very well from the start and that shows in the day-to-day and in the matches. With games like today's, you come out much stronger.

"It's always been my club, where you have to fight to be able to be here. I was lucky enough to be here ten years ago and for me it's the greatest thing there can be for a footballer. I'm living my second or third youth, I'm enjoying it very much. For me this is more than just wearing a badge, it is one of the most important parts of my life."
