Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is willing to write off their LaLiga campaign.

El Confidencial says while the majority of directors are insisting on a better showing in the league, Perez is prepared to sacrifice it for a long Champions League run.

Above all else, Perez believes their €300m summer outlay must translate into more success in Europe. Even more so as it's the quickest way of earning back the summer spend.

And should the team fall short of expectations, the president is likely to act on coach Zinedine Zidane.
