Real Madrid have expressed interest in Sao Paulo midfielder Igor Gomes.

The 21 year-old has been likened to former Real star Kaka and has attracted enquiries from Ajax, Barcelona and Sevilla.

However, AS says Real Madrid have now stepped in as they seek to add to their young Brazilian contingent this summer. Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Reinier Jesus have all arrived in the last 12 months and now Real have Gomes in their sights.

The midfielder is tied to Sao Paulo until 2023, with his contract carrying a €50m buyout clause.

Gomes is a Brazil U20 international.
