Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga talks improving form; technology and shaking futsal habits

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga says work with a fitness coach has been key to his improving form.

Camavinga also seeks to use technology to improve his positioning.

"As I have a physical trainer and now I play a bit more, we vary our sessions," Camavinga told RMC.

"I told him that I had a tendency in the support runs that wasn't necessarily the best, and so we worked on that. In particular, we worked on liveliness, with mental things at the same time to work on the senses.

"We worked on the senses to improve reactivity. Also to process information. In the midfield, players come from everywhere."

When asked the specific exercises he has done to try and improve, Camavinga did reveal some of his secrets.

"I think I could do better in terms of taking in information," he continued.

"Then, I work a lot with lights. I stand in the center and the lights change direction. This allows me to always take in information. So as soon as there is a light, I go towards that light or make a pass towards that light, so I can always turn my head.

"That's why I can turn my neck all the time. It allows me to turn my head to take the information. It's constant because the position of the player changes every second, so you have to keep moving your head."

Camavinga also admits he's trying to adjust how he controls the ball due to his futsal background.

"I like to take control by stepping on the ball. I don't know, that's how I learned it. Maybe because when I was younger, we played a lot of futsal tournaments, so that allowed me to work on that control," he detailed.

"Just yesterday the coach told me that I had to control with the inside. But because I'm a stubborn person, I keep stepping on it.

"Luka's (Modric) inside controls are really unique. We don't necessarily have the same position on the pitch, so I can't use the outside foot control."
