Real Madrid fullback Gutierrez in line for Champions League debut

Real Madrid left-back Miguel Gutierrez is in line for a Champions League debut against Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti had no choice but to choose him against Betis, but Marcelo and Nacho Fernandez had returned for the Celta Vigo game, but he kept his place for Sunday's win.

The Italian coach played things safe in the first two games of the season and opted for David Alaba at left-back, but he has now been won over by Miguel, just as Zinedine Zidane was at the back end of last season.

Both coaches have had to play him due to injuries, only to see that they can put their trust in the Castilla graduate.

Miguel's selection and subsequent performance on Sunday suggests that he might well be in line to make the XI in Milan on Wednesday, with Real Madrid opening their Champions League campaign away to Inter.
