Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal has rejected the Champions League claims of Barcelona coach Xavi.

Xavi has stated the Champions League isn't always won by the best team in Europe.

Ahead of their meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk, Carvajal responded, saying: “Opinions are subjective and everyone has their own. I think that when you have won the European Cup five times in the last nine editions, I think that luck is out of the question".

“They are results and the one who scores the most goals and concedes the least wins. It's complex. Speaking of last season, we had a great league championship and a Champions League that, with ups and downs, we were able to be there.

"The debate on justice or injustice appears when Real Madrid wins the Champions League."
