Real Madrid fullback Carvajal proud to reach landmark game

Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal is proud to have reached a landmark game this past week.

Carvajal made his 300th appearance for Real Madrid in the win over Barcelona at Camp Nou. He was presented with a commemorative jersey by president Florentino Pérez at Real Madrid City to mark him reaching this milestone.

He said: "I'm extremely proud to have played this number of games in this jersey. I'd like to stay here and play many more. Hopefully I can help this club to win more titles.

"I always want more, we have another game in two days' time and we want to win again for this jersey. When I retire or when I'm no longer at this club, I imagine I'll appreciate all these games played a lot more, but I'm not looking back at the moment. I look forward because I want to win more with this shirt.

"I was able to contribute to the team for a few minutes to help get the win. I'm getting back involved with the team bit by bit and hopefully I'll be able to get more minutes in the next few games and get back to my best form. Touch wood that I'll stay clear of injuries and that I can get more regular playing time."
