Real Madrid defender Nacho is happy playing for coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti returned to Real this summer for his second spell in charge.

Nacho said, "He knew us pretty well. Many players played under him several years ago and he's got a lot of experience in the game. He's managed to make this group even more tight knit and we're a very energetic side and are scoring lots of goals. We're doing pretty well and couldn't be in a better position because we're the league leaders in LaLiga and will also go top of our Champions League group if we win tomorrow."

On his role under Ancelotti, Nacho is happy to be versatile.

He stated: "I'm capable of playing in several positions, but I consider myself to be a centre-back, which is where I can offer the team far more because I've been playing there virtually my whole life. I can adapt to playing at full-back and it's true that I've had to play on both sides of the defence because of the absentees we've had.

"I'm used to playing at full-back and it's not an issue for me. I've got the experience and motivation to perform well there, but both the coach and I know that my real position is centre-back, which is where I can bring more to the team."
