Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says he can understand Xavi's resignation at Barcelona.

Xavi has announced he will leave Barca at the end of the season.

Ancelotti said: "I highly respect his work, like that of all my colleagues. My first thought is to respect everyone. I don't want you to make comparisons. I understand his decision.

"I understand Xavi's decision, but the pressure is the gasoline of my work.

"Where I have felt the most pressure has been in the Second Division (in Italy). I told my assistant that 2000 is not coming and I was 29 years old. Little by little you get used to the pressure and it becomes the gasoline to do your job better."
