Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was happy with Fede Valverde at right-back for their 0-0 draw with Villarreal.

Injuries forced Ancelotti's hand in fielding Valverde at fullback.

Ancelotti said: “I enjoyed his performance and he's capable of playing anywhere on the pitch.

"We'll have to see which is his strongest position. I don't believe that it's at right-back, but we started with two wingers and didn't need the full-backs to push on all that much.

"Asensio and Modrić played between the lines on each side. We managed to get plenty of crosses over, but they've got real height at the heart of their defence."
