Spartak Moscow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko was watched in action against Zenit St Petersburg on the weekend by Real Madrid chief scout Julen Lopetegui.
Russia international Pavlyuchenko is under consideration by Real as potential cover for senior strike-pair Ruud van Nistelrooy and Raul.
Spartak are ready to do business over Pavlyuchenko for around £7 million at the end of the season.
