Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr is delighted with his new contract.

The Brazil international has penned a new deal to 2027.

He said: “I'm very pleased and so is my family. It was a dream to come this far. It's very difficult to get here, but it's even harder to stay here. Being able to stay here for so many years is an honour.

"It was my dream to play and to be here. Where I came from it's really difficult to get here and to finally having the chance to be at Madrid is something that I'll carry with me forever. I'm very grateful to my family, my friends and the people who work with me and who do everything to make sure I'm always performing at my best. Playing here is hard to explain. Only the players who have played here know what it's like.

“It's a dream to stay at Real Madrid for many years and to continue playing with the best. And also to play for the best fans, for the club's president.

“I get on well with all the players. This helps me, it helps the others and those who work with us. We're all so happy to be together and to be playing for the best club in the world. We have to enjoy these moments, they're very important and they pass very quickly."

On the fans, he added: “It's a very special thing for me. Since I arrived, the fans have believed in me, as has the president. Wherever I go I receive a lot of warmth from them and when I enter the Bernabéu it's a dream and an honour to play and hear all the people chanting my name. I'd like to send my best wishes to the madridistas and I hope we can win plenty of trophies this season and that you can all enjoy it."
