Real Madrid assure Reus Man Utd target Bale will be sold

Real Madrid plan to sell Gareth Bale in the summer to make room for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus. The Daily Express says Reus remains Carlo Ancelotti's top summer transfer target but has reportedly expressed concerns about where he would fit in given Real's plethora of attacking options.

But the Spanish giants have reassured Reus that he will fill the void left by Bale's return to England.

With Manchester United lining up a £120m offer for Bale, Real are looking to take the money and run.

Reus has a clause in his contract that means he can leave Dortmund for just £20m in the summer, and Real are licking their lips at the prospect of a £100m net profit on the deal.

Only yesterday, Ancelotti was forced to defend Bale's style of play.

"I don't think he's individualistic. He slotted into the team very well last year, he's scored goals in three of the four finals that we've played and the pressure he has is positive."
