Brahim Diaz was proud of his goal in Real Madrid's win against Villarreal.

The midfielder hit a superb effort on the day.

He said: “That's the kind of move I try on a regular basis and it just came off and went in today. I'm thrilled with how the team worked today and the performance. We had to win and that's exactly what we've done. I'm really happy to have got the goal and the win. It's one of the best goals of my career without a doubt, especially here at the Bernabéu

“It's really special, especially at the Santiago Bernabéu, it's a dream come true. I can only thank the fans because they have always been so good to me here. It's all thanks to them, thank you for everything.

"They always give us that bit extra we need on the pitch to score or defend strongly. I'm extremely grateful, they're always there for us. Now 2023 is coming to an end but I'm sure there is a beautiful 2024 in store for us."

Brahim also sent his support to David Alaba after he suffered a knee injury during the game.

He added: "I'd just like to send Alaba a message of support. We don't know what happened but he looked in pain when he came off, he was sad. We'll be right behind him."
