Real Betis coach Pellegrini: There were many who thought Isco was finished

Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini hailed Isco after their Europa League win against Sparta Prague.

Betis won 2-1 via goals from Assane Diao and Isco.

On Isco, Pellegrini said: "In his position we have no replacement and I see him physically whole, not only in creation but in destruction. It is more problematic from Thursday to Sunday than from Sunday to Thursday. It's a lot of minutes but the team needs it."

On a Spain recall, he added: "I don't get into that much, because there is a coach who is dedicated to making this call.

"In Chile they ask me about (Claudio) Bravo. I am happy with Isco from Betis, perhaps many people thought he was finished but it took me three minutes on the phone to find out that he was the same one from Málaga 10 years ago."
