RB Leipzig chief exec Oliver Mintzlaff insists Timo Werner is happy where he is.

The striker continues to be linked with European champions Liverpool.

The 23-year-old has a £50million release clause in his contract and various reports have indicated that Jurgen Klopp's side are expected to trigger it in a bid to bring him to Anfield during the summer.

But Mintzlaff told Transfermarkt: "We hear these reports all the time.

"Someone makes something up, and everyone else copies it. Werner is happy here and wants to play the rest of the season."
