Ratcliffe rips up Man Utd manager tradition

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is tearing away a club tradition.

The Telegraph says the position of manager will be renamed 'head coach'. Erik ten Hag, if he stays, will be relieved of transfers work.

Ratcliffe will place full responsibility for recruitment with the club's sporting director and CEO.

Manchester City's Omar Berrada will take up the CEO post at United this summer, while Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth is expected to move to the Red Devils to become the club's new sporting director.

The structural change around the coaching position is just one of many changes that Ratcliffe is expected to implement at Manchester United.
