Rangers refuse to sell Bougherra

Russian Premier League club Terek Grozny have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Rangers centre-half Madjid Bougherra.

The 28-year old emerged as a target for Ruud Gullit's club but the Glasgow giants refused to sell according to Terek's vice-president Haidar Alkhanov.

"We have signed the Pole, Piotr Polczak (from Cracovia). As for another centre-half, Bougherra will not come to us. Rangers have refused to sell him to us," he said.

Despite the European transfer window closing at the end of January, Russia's remains open until the close of March meaning Rangers may still have to deal with interest for Bougherra and perhaps other Ibrox players.
