QPR striker Bothroyd refuses to give up on England recall

QPR striker Jay Bothroyd refuses to give up on his England career.

Bothroyd's one and only England cap came in a friendly against France back in November 2010.

But he is determined to add to it after learning from his mistakes in a career which has seen him play for eight different clubs.

He said: "Everyone has regrets. I've always believed I am a Premier League player playing outside of the Premier League.

"That was probably due to my mentality when I was younger. But my head is firmly screwed on now.

"If I had the chance again, I would do things a lot differently.

"I am 29 now and I feel I wasted a lot of time while I was growing up, travelling around and not having any stickability.

"My goal is to make myself indispensable, no matter who comes in.

"I've played in the Premier League, I've played for my country. Now I want to do both of those on a more consistent basis."
