QPR midfielder Joey Barton's appeal after his red card for violent conduct against Norwich has been dismissed, the Football Association have confirmed. The 29 year old was involved in a tussle with Bradley Johnson and appearing to headbutt the Norwich midfielder.
QPR appealed against the dismissal but the FA confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that appeal had failed, saying he "will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect."
It was Barton's fifth career red card and first since joining QPR last August.
