QPR chief Fernandes backs Chelsea's Terry to retain England captaincy

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes does not believe John Terry will lose the England captaincy in the midst of racism allegations.

The Chelsea skipper is still being investigated for an incident against QPR two weeks ago in which he allegedly directed racist comments at R's defender Anton Ferdinand.

Much debate has raged on since the match on October 23 but until it is solved, Fernandes feels Terry should be sent out as England captain for upcoming friendlies with Spain and Sweden.

"I think innocent until proven guilty," said Fernandes.

"There's been no hard evidence either way of John's alleged statements.

"If he's the right man for the job then he should be selected as captain."
