QPR boss Harry Redknapp is chasing former Portsmouth striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

The Mirror says the Nigerian striker is among the names on Redknapp's hit-list in January.

The QPR boss is exploring the option of signing Yakubu to take the pressure off top scorer Charlie Austin.

Yakubu, who plays for Qatari club Al Rayyan, was in the stands to watch Rangers' 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Boxing Day.

He has just six months left on his contract in the Middle East and is open to another crack in the Premier League.

Despite being 32, Redknapp believes 'The Yak' could be worth the risk as he chases firepower.
