French pundit Daniel Riolo has slammed France coach Didier Deschamps for again ignoring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Riolo is angry seeing Benzema snubbed while Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot earned a surprise call-up this week.

He told RMC: "I say it constantly, Deschamps takes players who play in other clubs (not in Ligue 1) and if the guy plays at Juve, for Deschamps, it is the pinnacle, the Grail, the paradise, it is everything. It is the quality label.

"You play for Juve that means that you have lead in the head and that you are a serious guy. Rabiot, even if he sh**s his boots, you play for Juve, you can come back. This will be the chapter we will have to write next, you pass the sponge for a guy, you will explain to us why you don't pass the sponge for everyone and the controversy will return.

"I, who have always understood the extra-sportsman because I tell myself that he is human and that he has been injured, and well today I officially announce it, I do not understand why he does not call Benzema.

"I never said it, now it is clear. They screwed up both Noël Le Graët (French Football Federation president) and Deschamps. There openly, they spit in his face. Everyone has the right to a second chance, others don't."
