PSG offered Xavi Simons on-loan to Manchester United over the summer.

L'Equipe says United and Leipzig tabled major bids to PSG to sign the 20-year-old Dutchman.

However, Simons ended up going to Leipzig on a loan deal. United were offered Simons on similar terms, but they were insisting only on a straight sale.

Simons has signed a contract until 2027 with PSG.

He has played 11 games for the German club this season.
