Luke Mulholland hasn't had the most straightforward route to professional soccer but that does not mean he isn't entirely happy with his choices.
?The England-born midfielder, 26, made his way to MLS in 2014 via college, the USL Pro League and the NASL.
?Now Preston native Mulholland, who opted against trying to start a career in his homeland, is planning to remain in Sandy, Utah for the foreseeable future after Real took a chance on him.
"My decision was based on the fact that I wasn't with a professional youth team back in England," Mullholland said.
?"But I knew I was a really good player, good enough to play somewhere, and I was passionate enough about it to leave my country and come to the US."
?The former Wingate University star added: "Right now I'm happy here in the MLS.
?"I think the MLS is a fantastic league. It's constantly growing. I've only played one year in the MLS, so I'm hoping to add to that and re-evaluate each year. But right now I'm happy playing for RSL, and I'm hoping to stay here."?
