Premier League managers are staying clear of free agent Michael Owen.

The released Manchester United striker is eager to play on this season.

But one assistant manager revealed to the Daily Mail: "We have been tempted by Michael Owen.

"A fit Michael Owen would be a no-brainer on a free transfer. But there is no such thing as a fit Michael Owen any more, is there? He's just not worth the risk."
