Premier League chief Richard Scudamore has dismissed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's complaints over Manchester City's spending power. Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy moved to the Etihad this year, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure were bought in previous seasons.
Scudamore said: "I don't feel sorry for anybody, in the sense that they are all in the same competitive way.
"They cannot compete financially so they have to compete in other ways. Arsene Wenger has the talent, skill and nous to be able to do that.
"Arsenal have not exactly been shy in paying good wages and paying for players in the past.
"They have to cut their cloth accordingly. I'm sure that doesn't mean they cannot compete for the title."
