Prem transfer scramble sparked as Maitland-Niles decides to cut Arsenal ties

West Brom midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles is ready to leave parent club Arsenal.

The Express & Star says Maitland-Niles has decided his long-term future lies away from Arsenal according to reports.

The 23-year-old had made it clear he wants to play in central midfield with the Gunners having tended to deploy him at right-back.

And after enjoying his time at The Hawthorns, multiple news outlets have reported Maitland-Niles is ready to leave Arsenal for good.

That is likely to spark a scramble for his signature with a host of clubs understood to be keen on the England international.

Leicester, Southampton and Newcastle all expressed an interest in signing Maitland-Niles back in January.

Wolves also came close to landing the London-born star last summer, while Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest.

Arsenal's asking price for Maitland-Niles is likely to be at least £20million – with that fee making it unlikely he will return to Albion, even if they do stay in the Premier League.
