Portsmouth goalkeeper David James has welcomed the appointment of Avram Grant as new manager.
The veteran England keeper compares the ex-Chelsea boss to Yoda from Star Wars.
James said: "Avram's knowledge is immense.
"He's like Yoda. His pearls of wisdom seem to be far-reaching and he speaks a lot of sense.
"He is just what we need and I'm sure he can get us out of trouble."
James first came across the Israeli when he was technical director at Pompey three years ago - and he liked what he saw.
The England keeper, 39, told The Sun: "Avram used to take some of the video sessions which were really good and got you thinking.
"He draws on all his experiences from years gone by about dealing with different players.
"He's very different and profound which appeals to me.
"I have total respect for him and he will get the instant respect of all the players. He's a wonderful bloke and has got what it takes for a relegation fight."
