Pochettino admits Chelsea players 'are all tired'

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted his team are fatigued after a tough Carabao Cup final loss.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 after extra time by Liverpool, losing to a Virgil Van Dijk header.

While Pochettino was not afraid to admit his players will be feeling their legs, he also knows they have to perform in midweek in the FA Cup against Leeds United.

He told reporters: "Yes, we are all tired. Always when you lose a final it is not easy to recover. But I am so happy because I think they are really focused and they move forward, if you ask all of the players today if they want to be involved in the game tomorrow.

"Of course, disappointed because we cannot win the Carabao Cup but we need to move on to tomorrow. But I'm happy because I think they react well and I think they are in a positive moment. I think they are good, they're okay."

He added on the difficulty of picking himself up after the loss: "No, it's not difficult because we cannot wait. Now we need to keep the spirit up, move on and be ready for tomorrow.

“Of course it is another competition, the FA Cup, and we also want to go until the end.

“We need to be ready because we are going to have in front [of us] a very good opponent in Leeds, they have won their last eight games, are in a very good moment and it is going to be very tough. That is why we need to feel confidence and energy."
