CECH AND LOLLICHON ON MOURINHO COLLISION COURSEPetr Cech has been enthusiastic, without going over the top, about Jose Mourinho's expected return to Chelsea. Perhaps he was hedging his bets. But the Czech Republic goalkeeper may also have been anticipating a problem for himself with Mourinho's move from Real Madrid. As from Real, Mourinho's trusted keeper coach Silvino Loura is expected to follow him back to Stamford Bridge. Where that leaves Cech's ally, Christophe Lollichon, is anyone's guess. But Cech, who has gone to war with past managers over Lollichon's presence at the Bridge, won't want to see his coach sidelined next season.

DI SANTO GREAT FIRST GARLICK DEALIf he can get the deal over the line, Wigan Athletic striker Franco di Santo will be a great first signing for West Bromwich Albion technical chief Richard Garlick. Replacing Dan Ashworth is no enviable task, but identifying and convincing Di Santo to move to the Hawthorns will prove a real transfer coup. The Argentine can fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku's return to Chelsea, help settle down his fellow Argentine Claudio Yacob and at 24 still represents great resale value. It's a great sign of how far the Baggies have come in recent years that in Di Santo and Yacob they could have two members of Argentina's 2014 World Cup squad available to Steve Clarke next season.

WENGER SHOULD HELP SAGNA PACK HIS BAGSIt's difficult to understand why Arsene Wenger isn't helping Bacary Sagna to pack his bags for Paris. The Arsenal fullback, with no agreement over a new contract in sight, has happily touted himself to PSG for the past fortnight. He's a Wenger favourite, there's no doubt about that, but the Gunners boss cannot justify pushing the club to extend Sagna's deal given his comments in recent days and more importantly his scratchy form since the New Year. Carl Jenkinson looked a world-beater at the start of the season and deserved better from Wenger when Sagna returned from injury. The England prospect was jettisoned by the manager for his senior teammate, but Sagna has done little to justify his selection. If Wenger tolerates Sagna's flirting with PSG and AS Monaco then the culture inside the dressing room is never going to change.

WHERE IS CITY'S FOUNDATIONS?It's a Spanish revolution at Manchester City - and could easily end in tears. Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain have dumped Roberto Mancini for the Spanish-speaking Manuel Pellegrini and are eyeing up the likes of Malaga winger Isco, Sevilla midfielder Jesus Navas and Napoli's Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. It's significant there wasn't even a mention of any local candidate to succeed Mancini. Soriano and Begiristain appear to have no interest in finding Premier League know-how and no plans for a 'British core'. City, even during their title-winning campaign, appeared like a stop-over for their foreign players. Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany are genuine City leaders, Pablo Zabaleta has also emerged this season, but another influx of imported talent will only confirm the lack of foundations the current club suffers.

SISSOKO THRILLER MOMENT OF THE SEASONFor a memorable moment this season, few could surpass Moussa Sissoko's thrilling chase and run past Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole in one of his first games for Newcastle United. There was no wonder goal at the end of it, but the moment summed up everything we love about the Premier League. Sissoko, little more than a defensive plodder at Toulouse, was reveling in the freedom and the helter-skelter football of the Premier League, and introduced himself to fans with a magical moment in Toon's great 3-2 win. The Frenchman struck twice on the day, but it was the running down of Cole as they chased a long ball, and stinging Petr Cech's hands with a rasping drive which proved one of the great memories from yet another wonderful season in England.

BEST ARSENAL SIGNING WOULD BE DEINWith a new kit deal to be confirmed, Arsene Wenger will have his hands on the biggest transfer warchest he's had in his Arsenal reign. But one signing who would transform the club for the better next season wouldn't cost a penny. If David Dein could somehow be welcomed back by the Gunners board, that would be a game-changer for the Gunners. As much as fans are demanding Wenger ignore his natural approach to the market this summer, they should be asking the same of the club's board regarding their hostility towards Dein.

STRIKER BLANK COST SPURSSpurs fans must be frustrated today. Yes, it was a great season, points wise, for AVB's Tottenham. But seeing Arsenal chase them down for fourth place must be exasperating given what the team had been screaming out for since preseason. AVB was barely a week into his reign when he set the alarm bells ringing by claiming Harry Kane was his 'third striker'. Clint Dempsey arrived, though had never been recognised as an out-and-out goalscorer, and the summer transfer window was allowed to close without another attacking addition. The January market was even worse for Spurs, plenty of interest, a number of enquiries across the globe, but nothing struck and Villas-Boas was left to rely on Gareth Bale's genius to get them over the Champions League line. In the end, their lack of depth, with a manager serious about winning the Europa League, was found out. What could have been, fans will be asking today, if chairman Daniel Levy had gone that extra mile for a proven goalscorer?
