PFA chief Taylor: Players don't want to be guinea pigs

The chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, Gordon Taylor, believes that the Premier League must find a balance between safety and a return to normalcy.

There are talks ongoing to determine when and how the Premier League could resume matches during COVID-19.

Neutral stadiums had been mentioned as an option, but it appears teams will play at their own grounds when matches get underway.

Games without fans are a near certainty, possibly for next season as well.

"It's never easy when we've had over six weeks of being told to stay inside, and the next minutes it's the start of what's being perceived as the easing of these restrictions," Taylor said, per Sky Sports News.

"The players don't want to be seen as guinea pigs and that will apply to everyone in professional sport.

"It's about getting the balance of safety and also trying to get back to normality as much as possible."
