Pedro Chirivella upset being left in limbo by Liverpool

Pedro Chirivella is determined to leave Liverpool this summer.

Chirivella is on loan at Extremadura until the end of the campaign but is unable to play after the deal failed to be ratified in time on deadline day in January.

The 21-year-old, whose last Liverpool appearance came in May 2016, has instead been training with the Spanish second division side.

And he said: “It's not how I would like things to be, but every day I feel stronger. I'm looking forward to next season.

“At the moment I'm still in Extremadura, waiting to see what Liverpool say.

“The transfer came through 40 minutes late. I don't know who missed the communication, but the one to suffer is me."

Chirivella is out of contract at the end of next season and turned down a £3.5million move to Norwegian side Rosenborg back in August.

He also told AS: “I see that (Jurgen) Klopp likes me, but you also have to be realistic.

Liverpool are among the best clubs in the world and I'd prefer to go on loan to play.

“I do not regret (coming to Liverpool) because in Liverpool I became a man on the pitch.

“But Liverpool know I want to go back to Spain."
