Parma defender Christian Panucci has taken a swipe at Roma president Rosella Sensi over her parting shot at former coach Luciano Spalletti.

"In four years he did great things, an extraordinary job. Then the cycles come to an end, everything ends and he made a choice," Panucci said.

"However, the group of players at Roma are very thankful to Spalletti and I think that we must praise a man who did great things in just four years.

"I don't think that saying he abandoned ship does justice to what he did in Rome."
