Ex-Cherries boss Scott Parker admits he has been impressed with Andoni Iraola this season.

Parker has always looked out for the results of Bournemouth, given his affection for the club.

He was the club's head coach for 55 games, helping them gain promotion from the Premier League in 2021-2022.

On Sky Sports, he said: “I've been very impressed, to be honest. The start is key, it was tricky, no wins in nine. At that moment in time it can become a little bit more emotional in terms of where you are going in that season.

“The new manager coming in has set his way, that takes time. There is no magic wand and that was probably the case.

“It was a different style of play from the season before under Gary O'Neil.

“But I think it's fair to say you're seeing the rewards of that in terms of the way they play.

“They've picked up some very good results along the way, an exciting team, a young team.

“I think it's fair to say they've recruited very, very well.

“It's pleasing to see, in terms of a dynamic team that are moving in the right direction."
