Park delighted with fresh Man Utd midfield chance

"Paul trains hard and the way he passes the ball is unbelievable," said the South Korea midfielder. "He always seems to find a team-mate. I am just happy to watch him and learn from him."

Park's inclusion in the side to face Roma was a surprise but he had a hand in the second goal, scored by Wayne Rooney.

Cristiano Ronaldo had made the breakthrough and it was an assured performance by United.

Park, whose season only started on Boxing Day after a knee operation, said: "I enjoyed the victory. It was good to get a game as it was a big match.

"There is a lot of competition for places in midfield so you have perform well in training and when you play.

"The result gives us confidence in the next game, although we have to concentrate fully in the second leg."
