Palermo fullback Cristian Zaccardo is confident of eventually establishing himself in the Italy team.

Overlooked for this week's Euro2008 qualifiers, Zaccardo shrugged: "This time I waited for Donadoni, but he did not call me. Every trainer has his own favourites and his points of reference.

"My future, however, I see in the Azzurri, because after the European championships, players like Marco Materazzi and Fabio Cannavaro will retire, and then my turn could arrive."
