Palermo still in for Arsenal striker Campbell

Palermo are refusing to admit defeat in the chase for Arsenal outcast Joel Campbell.

Campbell has failed to establish himself as first team player for the Gunners and has been linked with a move away from the Emirates all summer.

Palermo were considered favourites for his signature, but after failing to meet Arsenal's £7.1million asking price, the deal looked dead.

Now Campbell's agent Joaquim Batica has told Costa Rican publication La Nacion that a move away from North London could still be possible.

Batica said: "He always has a market in major European leagues, but he renewed with Arsenal in January and then after the transfer to Villareal went back to the club."

Italian publication Tutto Sport have claimed that Palermo are continuing to negotiate for Campbell and despite the Costa Rican's desire to force his way into the Arsenal side, the Italians will continue to try and secure a deal for his services.
