Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni was happy to see Sunderland boss Gus Poyet on Saturday

The two teams played out a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light.

"Gus is a good friend of mine," Speroni said. "We met as players and then bumped into each other at a few charity events and just hit it off.

"We've always kept in touch and talk all the time.

"He's a great person with a lovely family. It was great to catch up."
