Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate admits their Europa Conference League playoff defeat to Club Brugge was tough to take.

Osasuna were on their way to the group draw only for two second-half goals from Brugge to bring the scores level and see the Belgians win the tie on aggregate.

A floored Arrasate later said: "We are very hurt. Yesterday we said that we believed, that we were going to try, and that's how it has been. The pity is that you put zero to two, there are 20 minutes left and in the blink of an eye they tie the game and you are out.

"We have tried until the last action. It has been a tie in which many things have happened. I think it has been a great tie between two good teams. It is a shame that we have faced each other now. But it is also true that we have made some a mistakes for which we have paid dearly.

"It's a big stick but we have to continue. The team has shown its face. We have to be hurt but proud of the team and the fans. Today we have to lay the first stone to continue building and improving. I'm sure that these experiences are good for us even though we are hurt now."
