Olly Shenton hasn't been allowed to get carried away after his Stoke City debut.
The 16-year-old midfielder enjoyed a 12-minute cameo at the end of Stoke's Capital One Cup win over Portsmouth.
"He's just gone about his business as usual," Academy director Dave Wright told The Sentinel.
"It was back to his day duties the morning after the game and for him that meant re-stocking the water fridge because it was empty.
"And only the other day I saw him come off the training pitch helping the kit man by moving the goals and carrying some cones.
"He's not the sort to get carried away and has an old head on young shoulders.
"It also comes from the work we've done with him from an early age - he first came to us when he was about six - and so he knows there is still a lot of hard work ahead of him.
"It also helps that Olly comes from a very good home life where he has grounded and sensible parents."
