Obua quits Uganda to make Hearts number one

David Obua has stepped down from international football with Uganda to focus on his club career.

The 27-year old Heart of Midlothian midfielder, who has played close to 30 times for his country, has written a letter to the Ugandan Football Association suggesting it was time to nurture some youngsters essentially ending his decade-long international career.

Obua made his decision "to allow upcoming youngsters a chance to show what they can do and for me to concentrate on my club career. I have given my all, and where it has not been good enough, I'm only human."
