Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in Bologna striker Sydney van Hooijdonk.
Corriere di Bologna says Forest scouted Van Hooijdonk last season and are now firming up their interest.
His father, Pierre van Hooijdonk, spent two seasons at the City Ground between 1997 and 1999 and helped the club return to the top-flight.
Like Pierre, Sydney is a centre-forward known for his physical style of play.
For their part, Bologna are reluctant to sell the Dutchman, where he has benefited from the coaching of Thiago Motta.
