Nottingham Forest boss Nuno slams Fernandes critics: A special player

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno has rejected criticism of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

United and Fernandes go to Forest later today.

Nuno said: "Bruno Fernandes, I have a big admiration for him, as a player and as an individual.

"He's so competitive. Maybe some criticise him, but being competitive within the game is something I think all professionals should have.

"To be able to have this desire of always wanting to win and always wanting to do it makes you grow and makes you better. He's a big player, a special player, one of the best in the Premier League definitely."

On Fernandes' reputation at home in Portugal, Nuno added: "There's a lot of respect for him. He plays for the national team and is captain of United.

"As Portuguese people we are proud of him, especially among the young generation. He represents a lot.

"Not only him but Cristiano Ronaldo, all of these players for us - we are very proud they are doing so well around the world."
