Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper defended his substitutions after their 2-2 draw with Luton.

Cooper made several changes with Forest 2-0 up.

"It's a real pity, because of the way we played up until their first goal went in and the way the game has ended," he later said. "It had been a comfortable game for us, in terms of the scoreline and the actual general play.

"We had to make some changes. A couple of players told us they were flagging a little bit, so we had to make that change.

"I don't think the changes affected the momentum. It was the set-piece that we didn't defend very well that affected the momentum of the game. It's a real pity and we're really disappointed.

"You can try to pick the bones out of things in detail, but the reality is we've given a poor free-kick away, we haven't defended a poor delivery and the momentum changes. It's on moments in the game.

"It's not one reflective of general play, it's one reflective of one moment we didn't defend very well. It feels like a loss. Two points dropped, for sure."
