Norwich City head coach David Wagner was disappointed at the nature of his team's FA Cup exit over the weekend.
The Canaries came up against Premier League title challengers Liverpool, while being a Championship side themselves.
Wagner, who is close friends with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, admits they did not have the quality to compete on Sunday.
"I think we've been beaten by a top quality side," Wagner said to Canaries TV post-game.
"They're the best team in England at the moment, but how the players worked and fought showed commitment and played some good football.
"The speed and the intensity if you face a team like Liverpool. We were able to use this game to get some players back into the squad with game time.
"We scored two wonderful goals, but we unfortunately we're out of this competition. We need to do what we've done in recent weeks and make sure we do everything we can to finish in the play-offs."
