Norwich City have asked Ajax to name their price for Sven Botman.

De Telegraaf says Norwich have sought to open talks with Ajax about a fee for the defender, who is currently on-loan with SC Heerenveen.

With Botman still on a youth team contract, the Canaries can snap him up for chump change and immediately upgrade his current wages.

Before Christmas, Botman discussed his time with Heerenveen and stated to Omrop Fryslân: "I play every game and it goes quite well in itself. I entered this loan period for myself, but also to put myself in the picture more at Ajax. Whether the goal is to return to Ajax? Yes. We will see."

Botman's current deal with Ajax runs to 2022.
