Nice midfielder Ramsey: I miss the Premier League

Nice midfielder Aaron Ramsey has confirmed reports a poor World Cup with Wales hit him hard.

Ramsey dubbed Qatar 2022 a "big disappointment" for him personally.

He told L'Equipe: "It was a difficult experience for Wales because there was a lot of expectation. We wanted to show up on the world stage, get out of our group and see what could happen.

"The competition didn't come at the right time for us, even though we did everything to be up to it. It was an achievement and it became a big disappointment."

The former Arsenal midfielder also said of Ligue 1: "It's a very tough league, very athletic, and a lot of teams want to qualify for the Champions League. It goes from one goal to another whereas Serie A is more tactical, more turned towards the defense with low blocks.

"In Italy, the difference between the top and the bottom of the ranking is greater. After, the Premier League is another world, it's a different game and I'm not going to lie, I miss it. I had great seasons at Arsenal, but I'm happy here."
