Newcastle United remain interested in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

United resisted an approach in January from Newcastle for the Scotland international.

However, Newcastle will try again this summer, says the Independent, if they fail to receive encouragement from West Ham captain Declan Rice's camp.

The Toon regard McTominay as a first alternative to Rice.

Driving the move is Magpies boss Eddie Howe, who is a big fan of the midfielder.
